Penguin Computing Announces Its Densest GPU Solution With New NVIDIA Tesla K80 Dual-GPU Accelerators

Penguin’s Flagship Relion Server Delivers Extremely High Peak Performance in a 2U Form Factor

New Orleans, LA-SC14-Nov. 17, 2014-Penguin Computing, a provider of high performance computing, enterprise data center and cloud solutions, today announced that it will offer NVIDIA® Tesla® K80 dual-GPU accelerators across Penguin’s GPU computing platforms. This includes its highest density Relion 2908GT server with eight GPUs in a 2U system. The Relion 2908GT delivers exceptional compute capability with a minimal footprint and maximum efficiency for the datacenter. Penguin also offers a range of GPU accelerator densities and ratios through its Relion servers, including Relion 1903GT (three GPUs/1U), Relion 2903GT (three GPUs/2U) and 2904GT (four GPUs/2U). “Our customers require a range of compute demands in multiple industry sectors,” said Phil Pokorny, Chief Technology Officer, Penguin Computing. “The multiple Relion server options with NVIDIA Tesla K80 accelerators provide these customers with high levels of performance and efficiency.” The Tesla K80 dual-GPU is the new flagship offering of the Tesla Accelerated Computing Platform, the leading platform for discovery and insight at scale, providing hardware, software and an extensive supported ecosystem for GPU-accelerated applications in the data center.
