Demonstrating Face Authentication for Access Control and Payment at Southern Arizona Tech + Business Expo

At the Southern Arizona Tech + Business Expo on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 in Tucson, AZ, Penguin Solutions will demonstrate its platform for using facial recognition as a method of authenticating a person’s identity for access control and payments.

The Penguin Edge Face Authentication platform is designed to accelerate and simplify the development and integration of this innovative technology into end user applications such as smart buildings, kiosks, vending machines, and point-of-sale systems.

With built-in Wi-Fi and wired Ethernet connectivity, the Penguin Edge Face Authentication platform incorporates a low power, high-performance hardware system integrated with AI software and attached to camera sensors. The software leverages exceptionally accurate, AI-based facial recognition and ties in with the payment authentication backend.

Camera sensors, including a high dynamic range (HDR) camera, and sensors for time-of-flight and infrared, help ensure outstanding accuracy and help to lessen spoofing and other reliability concerns.
