COVID-19 Customer Update – 3/18/2020
We are reaching out to you during this trying and difficult time in order to express our solidarity and sympathies to all those affected by the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). In addition, we would like to inform you of changes to our operations due to the shelter-in-place order issued for six counties in the Bay Area on the evening of March 16th, 2020.
As you are all aware, the situation with the Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to evolve rapidly. In an effort to mitigate the spread of the virus and to protect the health and safety of the world’s population, a variety of policies and restrictions have been implemented by various governmental authorities and companies across the globe.
As your partner/supplier in the computing industry, our employees and our operations worldwide have refined and accelerated our business continuity plans to address the rapidly changing situation. We are taking proactive measures focused on the well-being of our employees while continuing to deliver the products and services that our customers need – at a time when our customers need them the most.
Depending on each specific situation and in compliance with the requirements or guidelines of local authorities, we have directed segments of our global workforce to work remotely. These arrangements, which are already in place, are being made with a long-range view to protect our employees by creating social distance while at the same time helping to assure our ability to maintain a high level of service in the event of a prolonged realignment of how we all will need to conduct our lives and our businesses.
In an action across the greater San Francisco Bay Area, County Health Officials have issued a “shelter in place” order through April 8, 2020, requiring residents in the area to stay at home. The San Francisco Bay Area “shelter in place” Order allows exceptions only for certain “Essential Activities” and “Essential Businesses.” Therefore, while implementing precautions to protect our employees, our Newark and Fremont manufacturing facilities will remain operational at reduced capacity during this timeframe to support such requirements.
We are proactively evolving our action plans as activity around the Coronavirus requires and we will continue to update you as the situation changes.
