An Upstream Linux Release for the Snapdragon 845 based Inforce 6701 Reference Design is now Available!

We are happy to announce an update release for Debian Linux software release for SMART’s Inforce 6701 reference design. This release is derived from Linaro’s Debian Linux build based on upstream kernel 5.2 and Debian 10 buster rootfs. This release has support for some exclusive features on Linux like MIPI-DSI rendering apart from other standard features.

A list of the important features that are part of this release are:

  • Maximum frequency capability of the CPUs (Gold@2.6GHz each and Silver@1.7 GHz)
  • USB HS/SS Host/device and MSC and HID classes
  • Ethernet over USB
  • Low speed peripherals like I2C/Serial UART and SPI
  • SD Card interface
  • Improved Thermal Performance
  • MIPI-DSI Display
  • Bluetooth 5
  • Audio output via WCD9340
  • And More!

The Inforce 6701 is a compact compute module powered by Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 845 SoC featuring on-device AI and Immersion for Embedded Applications. The Inforce 6701 reference design is comprised of the Inforce 6701 micro SoM which is mounted onto a carrier board and ships with a 12V power adapter and Type-C cable. Android and Linux BSPs are interchangeable on this platform.
