Penguin Computing Reveals New Product Lineup Powered by Intel Xeon E5-2600 Processor Series
Penguin Computing, experts in high performance computing (HPC) solutions, today announces immediate availability of the company’s new Intel-based product portfolio that is entirely based on the brand new Xeon E5-2600 processor series. This new generation of products will offer unprecedented performance and efficiency.
The new product portfolio includes the Relion series rack-mounted servers, Icebreaker series storage solutions and Niveus series workstations. With these new products technical and scientific users will achieve a higher simulation throughput, getting more work done more in less time.
Some of the performance benefits of the new processor line over the previous generation of CPUs include the following:
- AVX instructions for higher computational throughput
- Support for the third generation PCI-E architecture for higher I/O bandwidth
- Level three cache of up to 20MB
- Support for higher memory speeds
- Additional memory controller for increased memory bandwidth
“At Penguin Computing, we always strive to provide the very latest technology in reliable systems, backed by world-class support,” said Charles Wuischpard, president and CEO of Penguin Computing. “With Penguin’s industry expertise and focus on providing high-quality systems and the performance and efficiency benefits of Intel’s Xeon E5-2600 processor, our new systems will be a winning platform for our customers.”
Through Penguin’s close partnership with Intel and as one of Intel’s top five world-wide partners in the HPC space the company has been able to extensively qualify these processors. Penguin has also been providing early access to this new processor architecture through Penguin’s public HPC cloud, Penguin On Demand (POD).
